Prosper, prosper my college of engineering
You admitted me and gave my education a turning
Mechanisms and machines became my calling
Bolts, nuts and shafts became my playthings
In the curriculum you prescribed many subjects to read
All of them help me today to design and plead
My teachers ploughed my brain and filled it with seed
May be my revisions helped the seed to sprout and spread
At that time exertion was the need
And now exhilaration the feed
And achievement the creed
The first module was the foundation for engineering
Technical English improved my speaking
Mathematics developed complex problem solving
Engineering physics accelerating and powering
Engineering chemistry catalyzing
Engineering drawing helped me in sketching
The items I made in workshop by hack-sawing and fitting
The second module was theory of mechanical engineering
Engineering mechanics helped body frame standing and wheel rolling
Theory of machines provided the basis for link outlining
Strength of materials told the limits for breaking
Material science provided the basis for heating
Design of machine elements gave component dimensioning
Production engineering resulted in machining and assembling
The third module was full of engines and machines engineering
Steam engines described the process of sliding and reciprocating
IC engines described the process of fuel injecting and burning
Automobiles talked of painting and assembling
Hydraulics explained pressure boosting and working
Component and components of these machines for designing
Providing lot of work for drafting and blueprinting
The fourth module brought in the need for managing
Planning the activity, technology, facility, people and then resourcing
Told me about leading and supervising
Introduced me to a branch called industrial engineering
A field that deals with effort and efficiency engineering
Also explained the need for production planning and controlling
Advised me to do marketing first and do next cost designing
My alma mater provided excellent grooming
And let me go into the world with lot of daring
Today I am back saluting her with my hands folding
Thanking her and wishing
Prosper, prosper my college of engineering
with many more aspirants waiting for the opening
of your gates for the next session of learning and doing.

JNTU Kakinada 77 Reunion 2012 Preparations - A Poem
Once upon a time we met
As freshers in engineers’ vest
With a T-square and drawing set
And got ragged without being upset
In seventy two, admissions we get
In seventy seven, certificates we get
Seven sevens, the group name we set
To call ourselves and we set for our life’s bet
Thirty five years have passed and yet
We want to meet and sit
Once again allow the memories to lit
And share stories of how we first met, split and made it
Yes we met five year ago
But many could not go
May be this time the numbers will grow
And the joy will overflow
Decide quickly the venue
Appoint the man for revenue
Also form the martials and crew
And give them time to brew
The souvenir will be new
The mementoes may be new
But the real memories are old
And the relations are gold
